Stern Chosen as New MOSES Director
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 09/09/2020

The Midwest Organic and Sustainable Education Service has a new leader. Lori Stern has been chosen by the group's board of directors as its new executive director.

Stern has a master's degree in education with a focus on adult learning and organizational development. Her background includes work on public policy related to community and environmental health, social justice, and food access. In 2014, she opened Cow & Quince, a community-supported restaurant in New Glarus.

"Lori is a passionate advocate for organic and sustainable food systems," said MOSES Board President David Perkins. "We've been very impressed with the breadth of her experience and the skills she brings to MOSES."

Based in Spring Valley, MOSES is a non-profit group that provides education, resources and guidance to help farmers grow organically. In addition to its national organic conference held in La Crosse each January, the group organizes on-farm field days and offers a mentoring program and other services to help beginning and experienced organic producers.

Stern replaces Lauren Langworthy, who stepped down recently to take a position with the Wisconsin Farmers Union.
