Dozens of Cows Lost in Barron County Barn Fire

Over 60 head of dairy cattle were killed when a fire destroyed a barn in rural Barron County earlier this week.
According to local law enforcement, the blaze started early Monday morning on a farm located between Almena and Barron. A passer-by spotted the blaze and called 911.
Firefighters say the structure had already caved in when crews arrived at the scene. One firefighter sustained minor injuries.
The cause of the fire is still being determined.
